Hawkeye is a 1985 bay gelding.  He is Crabbet/CMK bred.  This gelding has done just about everything you could ever ask of a horse.  We purchased him as a two year old from Dr. John Aldred, Rollingwood Farm.  We proceeded to train him and several other 2 and 3 year olds under Doc Aldred's tutelage.  This began a relationship that has lasted many, many years (with Doc Aldred and with Hawkeye!).  Once Hawkeye was at the point of being "green" we brought him home where Tara continued his training, and they have been inseparable partners ever since.  Tara and Hawkeye successfully showed at the IAHA and AHSA  "A" rated shows, qualifying for and competing at the Regional and National level.  They then began attending Driving Competitions.  They have competed and won at Driven Performance and Endurance Tests, including the American Driving Society's Shows & Combined Driving Events.  The CDE's include a day of Driven Dressage, a day of timed precision Obstacle Courses, and an Endurance Trial with gated Obstacles in the last mile of the course, all timed.  Hawkeye also enjoys being in parades, giving demonstrations, sleigh rides, and the good ole leisurely trail ride!   Hawkeye was one of the featured horses at the first Crabbet Celebration that was held in Wakefield, Va.  He is quite an amazing guy, and of course, will always reside here... with his partner Tara, at Misty Ridge Farm.  He is the measure that all of our horses are bred for.
